I have been given an award....

I would like to say a big thank you to Jo for giving me this award.
http://siggi-shop.blogspot.com/
I have to say Jo you make my day ;-)
Here's what you have to do:
1) Write a post with links to 5 blogs you find of interest and that inspire you.
2) Acknowledge the post of the award giver.
3) Display the logo 'You make my day'.
4) Tell the award winners that they have won by commenting on their blogs with the news.
so here are the blogs that make my day.
You inspire me so many times, giving me new ideas to try.
You make my day because you inspire me to try different things.
You make my day, as I always wonder how
you manage all you do in a day.
You work so hard, I love all your discs and your crafting.
I just love your style.

Pages of a different kind!

I have joined in on a swap,
On the cardmaking and papercraft forum,
its something I have never done before.

Fat book Pages!

Each page is 4inch x 4inch, you have to

leave a space down the left to fix it all together. The theme for this swap is butterflies,

we each make a page for everyone in the swap,
plus one for ourselves. We then get max 20 pages back to make a book.
I just hope my first ever go at these are ok!Butterflies are my favourite so I couldn't say no!

Some more pages

I wanted my children to be reminded of being in the paddling pool
on warm summer days.
I have memories of a washing up bowl of water,
leaving footprints down our path.
Its not every year you get invited to a halloween party,
here is my little pumpkin.
Both my little ones love dressing up,
they had these outfits for Christmas and for
Children in need. Taylor was a pirate for Children in need 2006.

Taylor loves playing at being a fireman!
Thats all for now!

A rough Day!

We have had a little bit of a rough day.
My son as you know if you look at his picture wears glasses.
He had an eye test at school on Friday and failed
( we knew about his weak eye as he is wearing glasses!)
Monday evening I get a phone call asking to make an appointment to the eye department.
I was left worried etc, but thought it would come quick enough, anyway.
We were there for hours, after seeing 3 different people, plus being told he needs new glasses again!
We were told he has a weak left eye!
OK WE KNEW!
They want him to have his glasses for 6 weeks then go back as they do help straighten his eye.... Then we may have to go through patching it.
I know its all in his favour if we work on this and try to help him!
It just seemed like a waste of time and school day to find out what we already know!
How come it was so URGENT?

Magnolia Tilda Challenge # 8 Get well wishes.

Magnolia Tilda Challenge # 8
This week the theme had to be GET WELL Wishes.
I had already worked with Lemon and Lilac,
see below for the sugar nellie challenge.
So It kind of spread into this card too.
I thought the colour combination and the lovely bright Tilda
would make anyone feel better.
Please do leave your comments.

Sugar Nellie Challenge # 5 lilac and lemon

This is my first ever go at doing the Sugar Nellie Challenge.
This is challenge # 5 Lilac and Lemon.
I love this colour combination,
I ended up making two different cards.
The one below has Lola and her flowers.
I used a new ribbon today, that I was keeping!
And my second effort below.
Nellie and her basket of flowers,
I love the background paper so much!
I would love to know what you think of these.
Wow I made some cards,
I have been so busy doing scrapbooks!

Daring card makers challenge

Daring card makers challenge was to use some plastic you would throw away.
Recycled plastic.
I used the plastic off a packet of peel off's,
to make the window and to add the peel off butterfly.
I am not so sure about this card,
I would love to know what you think!

The 4th Scrapbook page that I had to re-do!

I don't know how I did it but I was amazed I had!
I actually put the photo of my son on this page when he first started
reception class. Now it has the right one on it!
Here is my son on his first day at Nursery.
How smart he looks!

More Scrapbook pages...

I was going to show you 4 pages, but realised that a photo
I had put on one page was the wrong one!
I have re-done the page and just need to photo it again.
Below is my son with his cute cuddlies!
A page about my Mum and Dad getting married.
And below my grandparents on my Dad's side.
I don't have many picture of them though which is a shame!
I did do this LO in a different paper but I had to
put them on plain cream.

The roses are velum, which I think just add the right touch of colour!

What finger are you? Just for fun

Just for fun!
You Are a Ring Finger
You are romantic, expressive, and hopeful.
You see the best in everything.
You are very artistic, and you see the world as your canvas.
You are also drawn to the written word.
Inventive and unique, you are often away in your own inner world.
You get along well with: The Pinky
Stay away from: The Index Finger

PTW Challenge

'Spring in your step!' is to make a card (or other item!) with a spring theme!
Easter and Mother's Day both fall early this year and
with me daffs out in the garden already it seemed a good theme!
Here is a card I made for the Paper Take Weekly challenge.

I wanted to keep it Quite plain and simple,

I thought the colours were very spring like!

Race for life 2008 For the angel that touched my life.

This is a very special picture.
I would like you to meet my Mum In-Law
Wendy.
The angel that touched my life.
She is the reason why I do the race for life every year.
In memory of a fantastic lady who fought cancer for many years,
in the end she just could not fight anymore.
I am asking you all to dig deep,
Please sponsor me for my 3rd time doing the race for life.
I will also add a link at the left of this page, please visit it.
This should have been my 4th race, but I was unable to do it last year,
I was in hospital after having the surgery done on my back.
I want to raise enough money to cover the race I missed and this years race.
Thank you for your support.
Love & hugs for you all
Kerry

A gift for a Teacher on maternity leave.

My son's school teacher has left to have a baby,
so I made this as a gift from us for her babies nursery.
A more detailed view of each section.
These were the packaging from some rolls of ribbon.
Of course I had to use Tilda stamps! The back of the top one, for details of baby. The middle section.I had to use colours to suit both boys and girls.I thought a photo might fit well on here. The last section, a cute tilda with a baby.I also thought it would be nice for them to write there first thoughts down.
She was very pleased with her gift, and said she would hang it in baby's room.

Making up for lack of crafting!

I think I have been in overdrive these past two nights.
I made a total of 16 pages!
Trying hard to get my childrens scrapbooks
into some kind of order!
This is how far behind I am.
My son's first Birthday ( he will be 5 this year!!!)
Splish Splash he was having a bath!
Tiny hands that hold on tight. My son loved flying high on daddy's leg!My daughters first Easter.
Silly hat and cute sleeper! How fast did she grow?Doing the washing, gardening and having fun!A cute girl in lilac! We had a naming day for both out little ones
to welcome them into our family.
It was a very special day, that I will always remember! My son's first Nativity, when he was in Nursery.
A cute picture of them both, at easter time.

I would love to read your comments on these pages.

A little sunshine.

I am sending everyone sunshine and smiles.
I think we all need them right now!
I have been at the hospital these past two mornings.
Long stories short,
I am being looked at as they think I could have the start
of rheumatiod arthritis.
Blood tests and x-rays of hands and feet done.
An ultra sound scan to come on my hands.
I go back in 3-4 Months.
They think I am not showing signs yet but it could be the start!
Today I went about loss of feeling in my right foot.
Another long story, after surgery on my spine last summer.
To relieve sciatic pain, I noticed my right foot had lost sensations.
Today I have learnt, IT will NEVER get better,
but I am lucky not to loose power!
Return in a year to make sure it stays as it is,
then I will be discharged.
Oh well at least I am living and walking.

No Crafting this weekend!

I can not believe that the weekend has gone by and I have done no crafting!

I got a cold on Friday evening, and have felt so rough, its hit me hard this time.
Oh well must carry on and try to tidy up after the half term holidays,
my son is back at school with a new teacher! I just hope he gets on ok.
Hope you all have a good day, enjoy the sun if you have it ;-)

Paper Take Weekly Challenge 'Stripes'

I made this card just now!
For the Paper Take Weekly Challenge.
It had to include stripes,
the image was part of the blog candy I won,
I used Marvy Pens to water colour it.
Both Papers are off a Funky Hand disc!
I think they look great with this image.

Some more work....

Here is a project I have been working on..
It started off as a plain note book!
The book now looks like this.
The front has a Tilda on it.
Then turn it over you get another front cover,
this time with a sugar nellie. And then inside there are Tilda pages,
with all the images of her I have collected!
More than I thought!!!And inside behind the sugar nellie,
you find the lovely images I have there.

I do hope to colour in all the Tildas too!

At least now I have a record of the stamps I have.

Tilda challenge # 6 RECYCLING MOTHERS!

Challenge #6
So This week we would love to see your Mothers Day Art Work involving

Recycling along with of course Magnolia stamps.

Here is my entry...

The recycled element on my card is the wire work and crystal section.

The crystals were from a wind chime that broke a long time ago.

I have been wondering what I could use them for.

Though I have to say I would not recycle my Mum! as the title may read ;-),

hope you all like my effort.
